About Me

My name is Sally DeCost and I've been teaching for 39 years in the state of New Hampshire.  I have taught every grade from PreK through 8th grade, except 4th, but have spend most of my teaching days in Kindergarten, first and second. Right now I'm teaching second grade, and I'm loving every minute of it.  I've picked up a lot of tricks along the years, and I'm more than happy to share!

I have a passion for brain based learning and study brain research to stay on top of information that has been learned about how the brain works.  I also have a passion for musical theatre.  Not only do I love to watch musicals, I have performed in many!

I have the most amazing daughter ever.  For most of her life, it's just been the two of us.  (Her father left while she was still a toddler.)  Being a single mom was a huge challenge, but she's completely worth it!  She graduated from college over a year ago, and is successfully living and working in Boston.

I love living in New Hampshire, although there are days in the winter where I wish I lived someplace where the winters were shorter and the summers were longer.  But this is where my roots are, so this is home.
