Daylight Savings Struggles

I have mixed feelings about Daylight Savings.

Of course I love when it stays light later in the day.  Who doesn't?

But I really hate getting up in the dark.  It just started getting somewhat less than dark when the alarm goes off, and that really helps the most difficult part of my day.  But now we're back to darkness again.  I rarely leave school until 5:30 - 6:00, so it's dark when I get home.  Now it will be almost dark.  I'm not sure I get any benefits from this!

And the kids are so cranky after the time change!  Well, there are some that adjust fine, but there are others that take a couple of weeks for their little bodies to adjust to springing forward!

A little explanation helps.  This video is a little above the heads of my second graders, but I think I'll try it anyway, since there's some good stuff.

Tomorrow we'll be returning after a snow day.  We'll be wrapping up our Read Across America week, and doing some work with St. Patrick's Day, one of my favorite holidays of the whole year!
Just a little something in honor of St. Patty's Day:  10% off everything in my Teachers Pay Teachers and Teachers Notebook stores!  Take a look at some of the things you can get for your kiddos!

  1. Take a listen to the shorter video again! I have horrible hearing but I'm pretty certain I heard a couple of words you wouldn't want your kiddos to hear!

    1. Thanks for the comment. Clearly that wasn't the video I meant to post! I took it down as soon as I realized the mix up!

  2. Terri - you beat me to the comment! Started watching the shorter video with my kids yesterday morning....AHHH!!! Not a fun way to start the week :o/

I figured it was already previewed since it was on a teaching blog.

    1. Cori,
I'm so sorry! That definitely wasn't the video I meant to post! I took it down as soon as I realized the mix up, but unfortunately too late for you.

I really do preview the videos! This just wasn't the one I thought I posted. I guess I've learned a lesson to "double check" when I post from Youtube!
