30 Days of Self Affirmations: Day 10 - Exercise is an important part of my life!

Today is the tenth day of my 30 days of Self-Affirmations!
Here's today's affirmation: 

30 Days of Self-Affirmations: Day10:  Exercise is an important part of my life. For 30 days, I will be celebrating my own "new year" with self-affirmations. Won't you join me? http://bit.ly/2LU1qJJ


Exercise is an important part of my life!


When I was young, I was forced to do sports. 

That was NOT successful for me, and contributes to my lack of self confidence to this very day. But there were some forms of exercise that worked for me: I was a good swimmer, and I loved cheerleading.

After college, I was looking for a way to stay in shape, and found Yoga and signed up for Gloria Stevens. (I'm really aging myself by mentioning that!) I continued to do aerobics classes and have always belonged to a gym of some sort.

When I was 26, a couple of years after I discovered community theatre, I took my first tap lesson. I was hooked. I took loads of dance lessons from that point, and continued going to gyms and doing aerobic exercise when I could. 

In 2010, I had a stroke, which affected my control on my left side and my balance. My dancing days were over, but not my exercise! I'm limited at what I can do, but as long as I can hold on, I love that elliptical machine! 

I've also recently started taking Tai Chi and I LOVE it! 
And no, Tai Chi is NOT just for old people!

About the picture:  After my daughter was born, my own dancing was put on the back burner. When she was three, she started taking dance lessons at an awesome dance studio. As she got older and more involved in dancing, I really, really missed it, so I joined an adult competitive dance group at the studio. I got to tap again, with some amazing people and had a blast! In the picture, we're dancing to Billy Idol. It was a medley with White Wedding (hence the "veils") and Dancing with Myself. (Hence the mirrors... get it?) Can you tell how much fun I'm having?
