Last week, I went on the very best trip!
I went to Las Vegas to meet up with my teacher/ blogger friends!
Many of my blogger friends have been talking about it for months now.
There was an I Teach K Convention out there for Kindergarten teachers, and many were already going out there for the convention, so the meet up was a natural conclusion!
I'd never been to Vegas, and I was going to meet people I'd never met before.
Some people thought I was nuts (especially since I really didn't have the money) but I hated the idea of all this fun going on without me!
I got there on Sunday, and immediate realized it was incredibly hot there (106 degrees) and dry (I was thirsty constantly) and expensive. I also noticed that wherever you went, you had to walk through casinos to get there. They were everywhere!
Although the meet up wasn't until Tuesday night, many of us went out to dinner on Sunday night. We went to the buffet at the Mirage. The buffet was great, but the company was even better!
Do you recognize any of these teacher bloggers?
How about these?
First on the agenda on Monday morning was Debbie Clement's keynote address to start the conference. She started her keynote by having all of us up on stage with her to respond to her opening song Celebrate, Educate, Appreciate. She suggested we all wear polka dots, but guess who was the only one who showed up in polka dots! (I got an A+ in following directions!)
Debbie Clement is amazing. She was one of the first bloggers I met online and got to know. We both are big on using the arts in education and using the whole brain, so I was absolutely thrilled I finally got to meet her. She's everything I imagined she was from our online friendship: Energetic, fun, interesting, and truly passionate about the work she does with children!
Her whole keynote was very motivating! It almost made me wish I were registered for the conference to learn more! It ended with the "Piggy Rap", which you can watch here! You can check out Debbie's amazing blog here.
There is so much more to share about meeting my blogging friends and the amazing trip to Vegas, but far too much for one blog post. You'll be hearing more soon!
