I keep a "Sub Tub" together for such emergencies. it contains basic schedules, specific procedures, personal and health information for each child, and general information about the school. It also contains a variety of valuable activities that can be pulled and used at any time.
I've even been known to use activities from the Sub Tub on days where I just was too busy to plan my regular lessons. (Like the day after parent night!)
I wanted to put together a collection of items that can be used any time, that will be meaningful by itself without having to take a lot of preparation or a lot of explanation on how to use it. One example of this is my Classy Mail freebie. (Click image for more information.) It can be done in one session, it's rewarding for the children, and it practices an important skill: letter writing! My blogging friend Rachel from Sub Hub has quite a collection of plans on her Teachers Pay Teachers store. Click HERE to see her selection.
I'd love to put together an awesome collection of lots of great items like this for the Sub Tub!
- You can link to a blog post or a store link, but the item must be free!
- It should be a "big bang for your buck" activity: low prep, high learning, and something that will be a good experience for the kids!
- Be sure to visit and support the other links as well! Leave comments!
I really appreciate your participating in this linky party and sharing your "Sub Tub" activities!
