Martin Luther King Jr. Activities

Yesterday I posted about several different books and videos so the children can learn about one of my favorite people in American History:  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Now that they know about him, I wanted to have some activities for the children to do in order to internalize that information and help them understand what the man stood for.

Click the graphic to the right to see my FREE Just or Unjust Center Activity.  I have several situations for the children to think about and decide if this situation is fair or unfair.  It should initiate some good conversations.

I've also found a number of other activities and crafts around.  Here are a few freebies from Teachers Pay Teachers:

Laura Candler's Video Resources

Wise Guy's Bingo with MLK Vocabulary

3rd Grade Gridiron's Word Find and Crossword

Ginger Snaps MLK Freebies

Then of course, I've found a few things on Pinterest

Martin Luther King Jr. Portrait Craft

Lots of MLK Craft Ideas

Songs for MLK to classic kid tunes

This is only the beginning, there is so much more out there!  Enjoy taking a couple of days to honor a great man.  I'll be celebrating Dr. King all week!
